If a patient’s check is returned due to insufficient funds, the patient will be liable for any associated fees, including those for returned checks and any relevant postage or shipping costs.
Upon a returned check, Nexus io will reach out to the patient on behalf of the medical provider to collect updated payment information, such as credit or debit card details, for automatic processing. We will send three notices to the patient regarding the outstanding balance. If the issue remains unresolved after three attempts, the account will be returned to the client for further action.
Nexus io is responsible for sending billing statements to patients on behalf of the medical provider. However, if three consecutive statements are returned undelivered, we will return the matter to the client.
We do not cover the costs of postage or shipping for undeliverable statements; the client is responsible for any shipping and handling fees related to returned billing statements.
Nexus io does not handle refunds or overpayments for patients or insurance companies. All refund transactions are the responsibility of the medical provider.
While we process patient payments, we do not manage the return of those payments. Clients and providers are accountable for issuing refunds and covering any related postage costs.
Nexus io will update billing systems and financial records to reflect any refunds or reversals, facilitating appropriate adjustments to commissions and charges.
